Introducing Legent: An East-Meets-West Inspired Bourbon

Honeyview_1.pngThis spring, Suntory introduced the newest member of our spirits family--an East-Meets-West inspired bourbon, Legent™. The first-of-its-kind, Legent is a unique bourbon that brings together the mastery of two distillers, one from the East and one from the West.

At its core, Legent was created to celebrate mastery and collaboration. The premium bourbon brings collaboration to life through the minds and skills of two masters in their craft, Fred Noe, from Jim Beam, and Shinji Fukuyo, from the House of Suntory. Fred Noe is a seventh-generation Master Distiller of Jim Beam, and represents the rich history of American Kentucky bourbon. Shinji Fukuyo is the fifth Chief Blender of Suntory, bringing with him his decades of expertise in distilling premium Japanese whisky. Together, these whiskey experts bring to life the unique cultural elements of Kentucky and Japan, forming a truly exceptional bourbon experience.

Although Legent is, according to Fred Noe, a result of "breaking rules and creating new traditions," its roots are in the classic Kentucky Straight Bourbon, made from the famed and historic Beam family recipe. The bourbon is aged in wine and sherry casks, before being blended Japanese whisky-style with more Kentucky straight bourbon, resulting in a perfectly balanced, yet complex, bourbon. The ingredients, which include the highest-quality grains and hand-selected wine and sherry casks, blossom as a blended harmony of flavors - both bold and rich, yet approachable and well-balanced.

With our new Legent bourbon, we're proud to bring together the unique level of skill, global perspective and spirit of innovation from the teams at Suntory.
