APPLAUSE at the 2018 GRAMMY's®

Earlier this year, the 60th annual GRAMMY's® Awards celebrated some of the biggest artists and their achievements over the past year. Held at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the ceremony also marked Suntory's first appearance on the GRAMMY's® red carpet!

In 2004, Suntory created something that had long been deemed impossible - a blue rose. Unlike other flowers, roses lack delphinidin, the pigment that produces the color blue. Driven by the spirit of Yatte Minahare!, our team of dedicated scientists embarked on the journey to make the impossible possible.

After more than 14 years of research, endless trial-and-error (and creating a new breed of blue carnations along the way), our Blue Rose team produced the world's first blue rose - naming it "APPLAUSE."

A few weeks ahead of the awards, we were thrilled to find out that APPLAUSE had been named the official flower of the GRAMMY's®, which is fitting as APPLAUSE embodies the feeling of achievement, dreams coming true, and how one celebrates life and its accomplishments.

APPLAUSE and FLORIGENE MOONCARNATION lined the red carpet outside Madison Square Garden, greeting this year's GRAMMY's® nominees and presenters. We are thrilled to have been a part of the biggest night in music. Let's give a round of APPLAUSE to this year's GRAMMY's® Award winners!
